Harder Than Wine
02:46
|
|||
You were too young to be sad
Last time you’d say mom and dad
But you put up your brick walls and now you’re fine
You taste so much harder than wine
Forceful indifference to the sun
You just couldn’t trust anyone
Your pictures on the wall are all gone
Don’t be scared for too long
Little blue chin wont you rise
Kings have seen their shit too
Gold painted wives brand new
And I watched you drown in your sleep
So here is my hand to keep
You can’t silence all the trains
You can’t step in the dark with those pains
If you want to be alone ill be on my way
Just think between the frames
Little but chin wont you rise

Lion
03:04
|
|||
The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout
First came the rain then came the drought
And I told you to stay healthy its good for your bones
It’s harder for you when you feel so alone
There’s a lion in your heart I could see it from the start
So put your boots back on and your troubles will be gone
There’s and eagle in your eyes it should be no surprise
That he who has to time for you can go to hell
The itsy bitsy spider went up the waterspout
First came the rain then came the drought
And I will hold your hand were gonna make a winning stand
It’s easy for you now you have a home in the world
There’s a lion in your heart I could see it from the start
So put your boots back on and your troubles will be gone
There’s and eagle in your eyes it should be no surprise
That he who has to time for you can go to hell
The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout
First came the rain then came the sun
The cannons will all cease and the smoke will wash away
I said id love you and that’s a promise I will keep
There’s a lion in your heart I could see it from the start
So put your boots back on and your troubles will be gone
There’s and eagle in your eyes it should be no surprise
That he who has to time for you can go to hell

Across The Lake
03:09
|
|||
Across the lake that’s where my baby stay
There’s a signal fire every first Friday
Ill work all day and I can work all night
To pay for a boat and that will make things right
Pockets are poor and eyes are rich with sun
Give me your skin and love oh lonesome one
Times have been worse like in 1998
When the lake went dry and we were filled with hate
Our two-tone hearts are beating once again
Lets scream all night in my shoes just tell me when
Tear off the mask oh powerful loving soul
You’re the music and music is my soul

Crash
03:21
|
|||
Lock up all my heartbreak and throw away the key
There’s abandoned burning grizzly bear that got me on my knee
There’s a love that I once knew and held, a window to the sea
But the telephone tells me to ring and the chains make me feel free
So piece me back together
Help me find the seed
The voices that are yelling now
Don’t give me what I need
Don’t say It will be alright that’s how its always been
The baby grew up straight and tall and then she learned to sin
Its alright momma ill be home tonight, before the sweat breaks through
And when we learn to fight again ill break right through the blue
But don’t tell me how you see me now
Id prefer you write it down
I miss the black dress hugging you
But in the moment I am sound

Passion Perception
03:54
|
|||
When night comes falling and you don’t know what’s right
The stone on your back makes it harder to fight
The passion perception is growing in me
The passion perception is growing in me
When the toothache is gone but the blood it still comes
The wars are all won but they still have guns
The chords are all strung but the music is dead
You can’t help but think all the words have been said
The passion perception is growing in me
The passion perception is growing in me
You’re drunk on the pier finding God in the sky
Oh brother oh brother I’m here don’t you cry
The passion perception is growing in me
The passion perception is growing in me
It’s all right poppa we came here to mourn
Lets go back inside I can see where its warm
The night by the fire felt good it felt right
Away with my stone and away with this fight
The passion perception is growing in me
The passion perception is growing in me

Conscious Night
05:06
|
|||
Conscious night I’ve been waiting on you
Conscious night I want you to see me through
Bars support the weight of freedom now
Cradle me my baby in the dark
Shining winter I see you’re smiling good
Oh the morning I’ll wipe my porcelain tears
Where the hell did you say we were?
Where the hell did you say you were from?
On the inside I see were humming home
Cradle me my baby in the dark
Shining winter I see you’re smiling good
Oh the morning ill wipe my porcelain tears
Holy ocean I feel no gun
Holy ocean won’t see me run
Echoes sharply voice in my brain
I saw my words I saw my words I saw my words
In her mouth
Shining winter I see you’re smiling good
Oh the morning ill wipe my porcelain tears

Hustle

|

Way way back in February of a year I cant remember
I was living in a tent in the middle of the desert
With the wind at my back and a hat with a feather
It was peaceful times it was hard times it was peaceful times it was hard times
But I knew I had to get across that desert
And it seems I cant remember, what the weather was like that next December
But my best friend milo got a camera and man we filmed the world
Then we got drunk on Christmas eve , wrote a song about all our tears
All our friends danced and danced and man we filmed the world
The oh my gosh I grew a beard, ‘bout eight feet long down to the floor
The girls didn’t like it and my mom didn’t like it, but it just made me smile
Then I looked in the mirror after 8 short weeks and shaved it off after tears of joy
It felt real right and I felt real light and then I kissed a girl
Oh I don’t know where that girl is now probably has a family with seventeen kids
But it was all real loving I know that everything about it made me grow
I’m not sad I’m alright the world is a mountain uphill fight
I found what it meant to be a man put all my hopes into a can
Poured it out into the wind and then I saved myself

Many More Mornings
03:12
|
|||
The burden of the death is pretty. Like a lonesome dove roamin' over the sea. As the ghosts of the night keep me in my dreams. My craving for the answers is bursting at the seams.
Many more mornings to come.
As I gaze here at my bed where my love and I have laid. and the thousand times ive smiled. and the thousand crooks I’ve paid. The cowboys are still fighting six feet in their graves. Their pistols drawn and whips of fire their country they must save.
Many more mornings to come.
The golden boys of the Texas town come out of the ground. As the saints reappear with love as a sound. The answers that you're searching for are buried at your feet. The nights that you've spent cryin' your tears you will defeat.
Many more mornings to come.

Old Movies
03:29
|
|||
Old movies now we’re drinking
I would rise beside you
Thick pages between us
I would pray beside you
Change the light it’s so bright
We could dance in the dark
Change the leaves they’re so blue
Change them for my mind
You’re so goddam worth it
My microphone my sound
Sidestep pain and strangers
Ill always be around
Hear stampedes hear voices
Breathe them out with soul
This is not my ballad
This is just my voice
Lets watch the old movies in my room
Lets watch the old movies in my room
Because we are new we are cool
Because we are new we are cool

Celebrate
05:02
|
|||
Here’s to the angels that made me cry.
Here’s to the angels that made me trouble
Here’s to the angels that made me love
You’re all so fucking special
Wrestled me down and beaten till I bleed
Kissed me right and left me on the floor
And I stayed there and wondered who I was to you
But it never mattered cause I get by on my own
And I lost my hat in the Tallahassee mud
Sold my buttons for a newer one
It’s so hard for me to say hello
When every goodbye has me burned up dry
And I pass by the old house on the way to work
Its got the old shutters and a hobo sleeps in my chair
I remember those dreams and what they did to me
Cursed me forever with a shoulder heavy and strong
Celebrate the times that I thought I had died
To live for the moment when everything’s all right
I’m happy that the car crash didn’t kill us on the scene
I’m so happy that the car crash didn’t kill us on the scene
Omaha is coming and Omaha is coming up right
Omaha is coming and Omaha is coming up good
